hey guys, i hope all is well at the sites. noble is great.
i don't know anything about this event or the people who are sponsoring it (i.e. whether it's a cult or not), but i got a flier and thought i'd spread the word in case any of you are interested. i guess what i'm trying to say is i don't want to take responsibility if it turns out to be crazyfest '06.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 15, 2006--STAND UP AGAINST POVERTY!!
ONE: the campaign to make poverty history: www.one.org
with guest speakers: Princess Zulu (AIDS advocate from Zambia), Father Aengus Finucane (what a name! Honorary President of Concern Worldwide), Shayne Moore (ONE volunteer)
7pm @ the Chicago Cultural Center
78 E. Washington St., Chicago IL 60602
what's with this ONE stuff?
"...ONE is students and ministers, punk rockers and NASCAR moms, Americans of all beliefs and every walk of life..."
"...ONE believes that allocating an additional ONE percent of the U.S. budget toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water, and food would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the world's poorest countries."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, so i don't know if i am going or not, but i might just to see what it's all about (read: determine their cultishness), and probably get a drink afterward. i'll try to stay away from the nike sneaker and kool-aid promotional booths.
give me a call if you want to meet up. or if you know of something better that's going on.
