Hey guys,

Here's the information from my roommate on how to apply to be an extra in the movie "The Express", filming all summer here in Chicago.

"Here's the info:
Anyone who wants to be an extra should send
an email to Chicagobackground@hotmail.com. In the
subject line, they shoud state their age, ethnicity,
and sex. (Example: 23, female, white, "Express"
extra!)
In the email, they should enclose one photo
of themselves. It doesn't need to be professional, it
just needs to give us a general idea of what you look
like, and should be pretty current. (Don't send us a
photo of yourself with a buzzed head if you have grown
long hair since then). Along with the photo, Tell us
your name, that you are willing to work as an extra,
and the following info.: Name, age, ethnicity, sex, Phone
number, email address, and any special talents (i.e.
dance, cheerleading, football, singing, etc.), or
prior experience you may have had (Though experience
is certainly not required).
I should note: Anyone who wants to be an extra
will need to be willing to get a haircut (they are
cutting hair to shoulders length on females, and crew
cuts for guys.) Also, any date that you sign up to be
an extra, you will need to be available all day long,
as call times can be as early as 5:30am, and run until
8pm. Compensation is over $100 per day, via check in
the mail, plus food while you are on set. As of right
now, since "The Express" is a period piece, unfortunately,
they are only taking Caucasians, and some African Americans.
People of other ethnicities are still more than welcome to
send us their info, as we keep information in our
database for future films. We are always working on at
least one or two films!"

My roommate just told me about the ethnicity restrictions; I'm so sorry about that! I had no idea they were looking for people of certain ethnicities. Since I don't know how strict they are on that, I would still apply even if you don't fit into the categories they say they're looking for. You never know... I hope this doesn't dash people's hopes :o( I'm sorry, guys!

Hope some of you apply and make it in!
Break a leg...
